What will his word accomplish?
We’re ready to find out what his word will accomplish this winter. And it’s not too late for you to join us!
If you’re never memorized a whole Bible chapter before, Isaiah 55 would be a great place to start. Our pace will be slow and the text is rich in imagery.
Here is one of the verses we’ll be memorizing at Do Not Depart starting Monday, January 20:
So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
Isaiah 55:11
We’ll look at one verse per week, 13 in all, discovering more about who God is (provider, deliverer, wise, powerful…) and what he promises us (presence, compassion, forgiveness, joy…).
I’m thankful his word will never return empty.

I am so excited about learning this chapter of Isaiah, Lisa. Out of the entire Bible Isaiah 53 is my favorite…I don’t know that I’ve ever really STUDIED chapter 55 though. Let’s just say that the Lord has already begun using it in my life…this week I’ve been working on verse 3. Such powerful stuff! Looking forward to begin promoting it over at my blog on Wednesday. The blog is currently closed while it is under construction. I have just a couple of glitches to work out and Lord willing, it will be back up and running on Monday! I have much to share!
This is exciting to hear, Dianna. I’ll look forward to what the Lord is going to do for us individually and together through this chapter. I’m so glad you share at your blog how you see him at work. It encourages so many of us!
I’ll read along and do the best I can, I think even reading it and taking it in, even if I fail, I win. “His word will not return void.”
You’ve nailed it, Floyd–it’s not as much about memorizing it as it is taking him in. That’s always the win!
“What will his word accomplish?”
Everything!
Thanks, Lisa.
Now that’s a great answer!
‘I’m thankful his word will never return empty.’
I’m saying amen with you tonight, Lisa! What power there is in His Holy Word!
Grateful to share our faith, Linda. Yes, power still runs strong the Word.
