3 Challenges for your One Word
Here are 3 sensory challenges with your word for the next 30 days:
1. SEE IT
Put your word where you can see it often. Write it on a post-it note to stick on your refrigerator. Make a wallpaper design for your phone. Or go all out and create a vision board for your office.
2. HEAR IT
Listen to a song that is themed around your word (it doesn’t have to include your actual word). Record yourself reading a quote about your word that you can listen to. Save the spot on your audio Bible that contains a scripture you’ve chosen about your word.
3. TOUCH IT
Find a way to connect your body with your word.
Examples:
- For HOPE, put your hand on your heart and imagine filling it full of hope.
- For JOY, do a little dance each morning.
- For GRATITUDE, put your hands together in thanks to God for the good things God’s given you this week.

Thanks for hosting One Word linkup, Lisa. Our monthly posting helps keep our word right in front of us. I appreciate the accountability!
I appreciate the encouragement to keep going with the linkup, Lisa! The accountability has been so good for me too with my word.
I agree with Lisa! You are helping me to keep focusing on my word, and where I want to grow this year.
Glad to hear this, Lynn! Hearing about others’ words helps me with my own.
My word is contentment. And I do need a reminder to practice it! 🙂
What a great word, Debbie. I was just talking about contentment yesterday in a book club group. Contentment can be a slippery thing!
That’s my word too! And I’m definitely need a reminder every day! Blessings
Thank you for hosting and helping us keep our words in mind throughout the days!
Glad to have the accountability myself!
I do appreciate your gentle reminders about our One Word! It gave me the idea to write about my word during the Write28Days challenge. I’m behind on the challenge but so far I have 10 posts all about decluttering possessions and mind sets. Itt’s definitely keeping my word, Purge, in the front of my thinking.
I’m so glad, Jerralea. It’s been good for me to be reading your posts!
I’m looking forward to working through the 3 Challenges.
And I’m looking forward to hearing how the challenges worked with your word, Barb! 🙂
Thank you for hosting Lisa. Like last year I made a screen saver for my computer with my One Word. Blessings.
I’m glad you reminded me of this, Paula. I made a screensaver last year too but I haven’t done that this year. I need to get on that.
Lisa, I’ve been noticing music with the word “dawn” in the title. Just this week, Randy and I went to a concert at our local university and choir sang one like this. The Pride and Prejudice soundtrack also includes a title named “Dawn,” which my daughter pointed out to me. So fun.
That’s awesome that you’ve been finding songs with Dawn in the title! I need to be watching closer for songs with Release. (Sounds like a job for Google…) 🙂
I so appreciate all you do with this One Word Group, Lisa. I’m excited to finish a post this weekend that involves the word “Endurance.” Kind of a scary word to embrace, but I am trusting my Lord and Savior as I begin a New Year.
Yes, Endurance is kind of a scary word, Horace! 🙂 But you’re brave to embrace it. I’m sure you’re going to be rewarded through it!
Endurance. I’m happy for the inspiration that God gave me to publish a post about endurance.
Great suggestions for focusing on our word.
