Share 4 Somethings – February 2025
I love how Jennifer tweaks our prompts each year for “Share 4 Somethings.” Write your own post and link up with Jennifer here for February.
The prompts for 2025 are:
- Some things we loved
- Some things we learned
- Some things that went well
- Some things we let go of
I’m also sharing my previous month’s One Second Everyday video . . .

Something I loved
- REPOTTING HOUSEPLANTS
Lately I’ve been repotting my houseplants. While I don’t typically have good luck with succulents (I probably overwater them), I’m pleased at the moment with how cute these babies are doing since I gave them new pots.
My next project is dividing up my Philodendron Selloum. It has outgrown both its pot and the spot where I keep it. I hope I won’t kill it when I divide it, but either way, it’s not working as it is.

Something I learned
- DISABILITY VISIBILITY
I’ve been wanting to read this book since I kept seeing it recommended during Nonfiction November last year. I finally read it. And it made me aware of so much that I haven’t thought about for those living with disabilities. If we don’t already have some disabilities and we live long enough, we’ll all have disabilities of some sort.
My online book club with Moms Demand Action discussed the book this past Monday night, and the conversation there was enlightening too. I always get more out of a book when I get to talk about it with others.
Alabama is an especially tough state for children and adults with special needs. To make things worse, our only investigator in the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights—Victoria DeLano—had her position eliminated last week.

Something that went well
- UNCLE’S ESTATE SALE
Last weekend we had an estate state for our dear uncle that we lost last November. It was sad to empty out his house. But going through his and my aunt’s treasured belongings to ready them for the sale was full of discoveries and delights. It was also rewarding knowing that new life will be breathed into their belongings in new families and new homes.

Something I let go of
- THE PERFECT VACATION
My husband Jeff and I want to visit all the presidential libraries. We’ve made a good dent in our list so far with the libraries closest to us. But the furthest two libraries are in California (Reagan and Nixon). We’re planning a trip there this spring to tour them, plus see some national parks that we’ve always wanted to visit.
However, with California’s chaotic weather, the firing of national park workers, and the minimizing of staffing for presidential libraries, I’m wondering if this spring is the worst possible time we could visit!
But we’ve decided to go anyway. We’ll try to make the best of whatever we’re able to see and do. I realize no trip is ever perfect, but this one seems to have some extra obstacles up front. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
What is something you are loving, learning, has gone well, or had to let go of this month?

I always love your videos of the month, Lisa, and this one was not exception. I do hope your trip will exceed expectations, too. Blessings!
I’m going to report your presidential library project to my history buff husband! I think we should do likewise. I think the only one we have visited is Lincoln’s…
oh do let us know how the vacation goes and I love the pots you chose to repot the plants in!!
I don’t know of you know Anne at nikkipolani, but she just wrote about visiting the Reagan library. The have an exhibit on the Dead Sea Scrolls right now–it would be neat if that was still up when you go! I’ve not been to any presidential libraries–I should try to see at least one.
I so enjoy your videos Lisa, such fun! And the laughter of your grandchildren always brings a smile.
My daughter recently started a ‘Wednesday Waffle’ WhatsApp chat for our family where each nuclear family posts a one minute video or voice recording in what’s happening in each family on Wednesdays. I absolutely loved hearing/seeing each one.
Why is it named Wednesday Waffle? Wednesday’s are normally less busy than other days & waffle means to just chat on about what’s been happening or going on…a waffling on.
Visiting from Maree’s today
Blessings, Jennifer
Hi, Lisa – Your succulents look fabulous. I used to be better with houseplants but have recently lost my touch. Wishing you a fantastic vacation ahead!
I love your potted succulents, Lisa. The pots are so pretty. They and your video have brought smiles to my heart. 🙂
It’s so sad that someone who advocated for the disabled lost her job. The disadvantaged need more advocates, not less. I don’t understand it all, but I’m sad for all those who lost their means of support for their families. A woman who worked for Fish and Wildlife here in SD says she never saw it coming and she feels so betrayed and unappreciated. Love and blessings to you!
Sounds like a good month, overall. It is hard to plan with all the things wonky in the government, but I do think you have the right idea, go anyway, make the most of it, and make memories regardless! Have a great weekend!
I am in love with your pots in the top image. I love indoor pots! The rest of the month sounds like it went well 🙂
Your plants are looking quite healthy! I’m getting at repotting without killing them but I do find it nerve wracking every time because I am not confident in my skills at all. I wish you the best of luck on your trip! We’re crossing our fingers about our National park trip this year too; we’re trying to see them all but I do wonder how these cut backs are going to change everything.
