This is so true, Lisa. I love your insights! I wouldn’t have put it this way, but you are absolutely right. When we have hope we can make it another day. We can move forward on projects/ministry when we know it will matter, when we know God will show us next steps, when we know we can finish. The converse is true: When we have no hope, we give up on whatever He assigns, and sometimes, on life, itself!

This verse came up in my Bible reading today in Romans 15. My ESV Study Bible tied it into the verse before – as much as I stress reading in context, somehow I missed it here. The verse before is a quote from Isaiah: “The root of Jesse will come, even he who arises to rule the Gentiles; in him will the Gentiles hope.” I am *so* glad God included us in His offer of salvation and hope! And because of that, we can be filled and overflow with hope.
