Do You Want God to Know Everything About You?
She’s new to us.
We know little about her. But we want to know everything about her because she lives here now.
She needs us to know.
My daughter Morgan birthed her new baby daughter two weeks ago. I’m excited to be a grandmother now to two beautiful granddaughters!
But with a newborn in their house, everything is changing. They listen for her cries to know if she’s hungry. They feel her skin to know if she’s hot or cold. They watch her chest to know she’s breathing in and out.
And she knows none of this.
Do we like being watched?
Do we want God to know everything about us?

And here’s a little peak at the newest love in my life!

Beautiful baby girl! She has more hair on her head at birth than I think I had my entire life! Well…not really but certainly now. Babies give us so many valuable lessons, not the least is the one you have given us in this. I’m reminded of the Psalm that says “He neither sleeps nor slumbers.” Watching over us even when we are not aware.
Congratulations on the new granddaughter! She is lovely indeed! The photo is stunning! I’m so happy for you!
The metaphor of learning to know her and how the Lord knows us is such a true depiction of the fact.
Thank you!
Congratulations! What a beautiful addition to your family :).
Heading over to read the rest, but just had to say congratulations! Your new granddaughter is beautiful!
Enjoyed the article, Lisa. And this new baby girl?! Wow! How precious! Congratulations! I loved the analogy to God knowing everything about us. I find comfort in the fact that God watches me closely…I like to look at it as Him watching over me closely. And powerful thought that because He does know us, He knows what’s best.
She’s beautiful, Lisa! Congratulations on your second grandchild! I love this – “We can rest more securely in God’s love precisely because He knows us, not in spite of it.” Amen! Love and blessings to you and your family!
Oh, my…
This is making me so eager for the birth of our #3 grandchild.
That newborn neediness is a perfect image of our need of God’s parenting skill.
What.A.Doll. You are truly blessed my friend!
She’s adorable! Congrats on the new addition!
Congrats Grandma! What a beautiful baby. Congrats to your daughter as well. 🙂 Headed over to read the rest of this.
