I can relate to what you're saying Lisa. I've ended up at the wrong table before too. I didn't want to be rude, but then again I wasn't going to sit there or participate in a conversation that went against my beliefs.
This is food for thought.
Thanks so much for sharing with Sweet Tea & Friends this month my friend

Great post, Lisa. I've been at the wrong table many times. At times I found myself staying longer than I should have, and at other times I got up and left immediately.

I grinned when I read your explanation of the silence on the topic. Absolutely true—and that’s kind of a good thing about the body of Christ.

I don't know if you can really give something if you are at the "wrong table". The others might not profit and neither do you. So bowing out politely shouldn't be taken wrong by anybody. If they do it anyway, it can't be helped really.

So thought provoking! Reminds me of the saying - it is okay not to finish a book you are reading. Sometimes the challenge is good but often moving to a new book or new table is the best move.

Such an important perspective! I, too, hate to "be rude" and have a hard time just leaving things that are not for me. But you are right that there is really no point. Some tables are just not for us, and that is completely fine. I am learning that better the older I get. Thanks for sharing your experience. Visiting from The Crazy Little Lovebirds link party.

It's important to recognize when we end up "at the wrong table" not just for ourselves, but for respect for the others at the table! And the seats we vacant may be needed for others who are meant to be there.

It depends on the format and are you going to see these people again that you just left.

If returning for another week I have made a point of not returning to a table that wasn't me but it can be hard to leave one, especially if seats are tight.
