Oh, I am so thankful for people like you, Paula! We need more Paula’s in the world who can love with compassion, and advocate for those who don’t have a voice. I see so many people whose lives could be improved if they just had at least one person who could do that for them. Even though you may not be doing that work in the same way now, I’m sure your heart for the underserved is still beating strong.

What a beautiful tribute to your friendship with Violet. I spent most of my Social Work career working with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. I loved everyone on my caseload as if they were family. I laughed and cried with them. And I was their voice advocating for them because they couldn’t. Bless you Lisa for being that friend to Violet.

Thank you for your kind words, Dianna. And I’m glad you got to finally “see” Violet. You would have loved her. Through caring for her, I definitely had to step out of my comfort zone and grow in ways that I didn’t really want to. But I’m glad that I did. Love has a way of doing that. ❤️
