It can be exhausting always being right. Always having an opinion. Ever thinking we’re the expert. Running over others. Not listening well.

On our recent trip Bill and I got lost and couldn’t find the tour bus. We had to call the tour guide for help and embarrassingly held up the departure time for everyone else due to us turning the wrong way. Yes humility. Yes compassion. I named both of these emotions as we walked the “aisle of shame” to our seats on the bus! Good words here today, Lisa. Thank you!

So true Lisa & lessons I think all of us can benefit from, no matter what age or stage in life we’re in.

My stepdaughter was only talking about this yesterday with her Dad & I in how many of their patients, she works in Health, think they know what they should do & think they’re right in their knowledge!

Unfortunately, much of the information is totally wrong & dangerous. But so many are unteachable in their assertion of being ‘right’ ignoring the medical professional.

I’m new on here as of today. I’ve been trying to not have the last word, too.
When I know I’m right, and he makes a statement that is definitely wrong, in my opinion ( ! ), I’ve been shutting my mouth some, amazingly ! Then even changing the subject sometimes, which I never used to do.
All becuz he and I are sick of arguing, and are trying harder than ever to show love, and to communicate the right way.

I agree with you Amy – I definitely see this as an area that the church needs to work on as well. 🙁 It starts with us individually, but the mindset of “I’m always right” also needs to leave our institutions.

In reply to Barbie. This is definitely a harder problem with strong-willed people so I feel your pain, Barbie. It's an area that we have to work on our whole lives, I suppose. It will be a little easier for your family when there are fewer people in the house. :)
