I wonder the same thing, Beverley. I’ve been with a family lately who does not have that sure knowledge as they go through some very rough times with cancer, and it’s been so painful to watch the hopelessness that comes with their lack of faith. 🙁

I often feel very deeply for those who do not have a sure knowledge of God or of his grace and wonder how they ever get through the hard times without Him.

“what he’s offering me in the now” – ooh, that is good, Betty. Sometimes we start looking at someone else’s cup, or a future cup meant for us, when it’s THIS cup that he wants us to drink. This is the fulfilling one for our soul now.

Yes, I’m sure it’s our first instinct to go straight for the need to be answered. And not a bad one! 🙂 But I still have to learn to give God room to work in other ways beyond my preconceived notions of how I’d like him to answer. Not there yet. ha.

So many of the prayer requests I hear are prayers to answer a need. I do it too. The one thing we can be sure God will provide is — grace in the moment — even if He doesn’t do that thing which we’ve asked. My soul does thirst for grace!
