There have been times I have gone back to re-read a book on my shelf and wondered why I didn’t LOVE the book the first time. I have wondered if what makes a book “great” also involves the timing of reading it with events in our lives. But good for you in drawing out the nugget you needed. May it prompt us all to do the same.

I am reading a book right now (a non-fiction) that I would put into the same category as this one. It’s not BAD, but it does tend to ramble. I have found some great nuggets in it, though. thanks for sifting out these nuggets for us. Humor is so important! One of the reasons I married Bill – he makes me laugh! 🙂

I’m reading a book right now that probably will not be one I’ll recommend highly. It’s not bad, but it is written in such a boring way. But, I am getting a few nuggets from it. I guess they all can’t be wonderful, ha!

Thanks for the heads-up on Libby. They don’t seem to be connected with my nearest library branch, but they are with the downtown one. I suppose if I am getting mainly ebooks through them, their location won’t matter as long as it’s a branch connected to the system where my library card works.

I enjoyed Linda’s post, too.

I just finished reading Idol Lies by Dee Brestin

I agree Lisa, when a non-fiction book drones on & on and in my opinion could have been ½ as long, I tend to end up skimming or abandoning the book altogether. Now, I’m afraid that I may have missed some important nuggets along the way.

Sometimes I’ll be thinking “I am not really into this book” and then it is the book that stays with me for months and, after a time, will switch my thinking to actually like it and recommend it! Our reading life is just as complicated as our living life! 🙂
