This blog evokes my thoughts on the relationship between food and God, prompting me to reflect on the little things in daily life. The author's unique perspective has made me realize that food is not only nourishment for the body but also an expression of God's love. Thank you for sharing this inspiration, and I look forward to more such profound content!

I appreciate your encouraging words, Jennifer. I know for myself that it's easy to slip into taking God's gifts for granted. But he's given us SO much and he does it so frequently that I want to remind myself often to tell him thank you.

I appreciate the way you're encouraging us to invest time and effort into our thanksgiving, instead of merely giving it lip service. Our God has been so good to us - any time that we spend pondering His provision and thanking Him for it is time well-spent! Thank you for sharing this with us at Grace & Truth.

I love this A-Z series you're doing! Favorite food? Hard to just choose one! You mentioned apples and I do love those, but love them best when I make them in a pie served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Yesterday I went to our favorite orchard about 15 minutes from home and hand selected a peck of my favorite fall apples from a huge wooden bin. I always look forward to this trip in the fall and others I will make there for this kind of apple since the time it is available is brief. Perhaps it also teaches me that I need to savor those good things He brings into my life because they may not always be there to enjoy. (P.S. Homemade ice cream is something near the top of my list!!)

My favorite food is any sort of pasta - perhaps, spaghetti is in the lead! And I can thank God for the stockers in the grocery store, the workers at the packaging factory, the farmers who reap the grains, and the Lord who blesses the harvest and uses the food in my own body.

GOD BLESS!

(Sorry I've been MIA - been sick for 3 weeks now, finally on antibiotics. UGH)

It's hard to pick a favorite. I enjoy most foods! But for this exercise I'll pick crab cakes! Yum! It's fun to think about crabs, and all the wondrous creatures of the sea and thank God for each and every one!

Lisa, I loved your little Potato-man also! He gave a fun smile to my day. And since my favorite food is eggplant, and since I cannot grow it in my shady garden, I'm usually so thankful when I get some! Your prompts made me want to be more thankful for the ordinary, everyday foods now, though! Thanks for such fun thoughts to keep focused on God's gifts! --Blessings to you!

Lisa, tonight we are going out to eat for my husband's birthday, so I'll have lots to think about with the cooks, and the wait staff -- and all the way back to the farmer, because I'm planning to order a salad.
One of the things I love about life on this country hill is that I'm able to raise a lot of our veggies, and usually can and freeze a number of things that take us through the winter.
The thought process back to God is pretty short on those food items, and that in itself is a reason to be thankful!

Your pic of the potato really gives me smiles, Lisa. :) I'm amazed at what ways you're coming up with to encounter God. Such a great idea to trace back all foods back to God. I love the thought of also being thankful for those who work so hard to bring it to our tables. I think many must often feel so unappreciated. Since I just finished some coffee, it made me curious. I found 10 steps to making coffee. I also found the history of how it was discovered. Very interesting. It's amazing how God gives minds and know-how to discover and make many food products. Thank you for challenging me today. :) By the way, I love candy corn, too, the Brach's brand. Made with real honey, so it's healthy in a way, right? :) Have a blessed weekend! Hugs!
