Getting out of my normal settings is usually an invitation to me too to experiment with spiritual disciplines in slightly different ways (or sometimes to take a break from them altogether). Hope yours turns out beneficial.

As much as I love and have become dependent upon technology, I hope pen and paper will never go away. We are richer by our less hurried interactions of hand to paper. I applaud your use of keeping a diary that way.

My bedtime prayers atm are a bit too "heartfelt" for this kind of thing (work stress, home stress). But I'm going to be away from home on business for a few days. I'm going to try things like praying aloud and praying scripture, spending time writing about the Psalms I'm thinking about (I love my pen-and-paper diary. Blogging has a special public/private magic but often I find the mechanics of using the software gets in the way).
