3. Quote Investigator

This is supposedly a reliable way to check the source of a quote. (I didn’t have a lot of luck with it, but maybe you will? I’m not giving up yet.)

4. The Booktrail

When I’m planning a trip, I like to read a novel set in that location. This site is supposed to search for books by their setting. I haven’t used it myself yet (I haven’t been outside Alabama in 6 months!), but it’s good to know it’s available.

What can I say? Grandkids live up to their hype. I’m all in.

Vow renewal and family picture

We rarely get a picture with everybody in it at once, so this is very special to me. My daughter and husband had a beautiful, small vow renewal ceremony in their front yard last month.

Then the following week, we kept the two granddaughters at our house. We had the best time! We weren’t even too exhausted afterward like I expected to be.

This was fun until we cracked one of the eggs. The baby turtle inside was a bloody mess. It didn’t bother my granddaughter, but it did me. We hid the other eggs after that.

COVID-19 Event Risk Assessment Planning Tool

This is a helpful map from Georgia Tech to assess your possible COVID exposure at any given event in the U.S., depending on where you live and how many people will be in attendance.

For example, with 50 people attending an event in my county, the odds are 92% that at least 1 person will have COVID. With 25 people, it’s 72%. (Of course these are just estimates. Who really knows? But it’s a good starting point.)

Finished Pack of 12 Puzzles

I didn’t realize it would be possible, but I finished the box of 12 puzzles that I bought in March. Granted, they were all relatively small. But I enjoyed each one. Puzzles are stress-relievers for me during this extra time at home.

Zoom Lunch with 4 Corners

The last time my group of BFFs got together in person was right before the lockdown in March. Four months later, we finally found a video platform that worked for everybody and had our first Zoom lunch. It was great “seeing” each other again finally.

Planting Pumpkins

Our oldest granddaughter and her dad planted a pumpkin patch on July 4. She’s been so excited about it and is eagerly awaiting a pumpkin to pop up in the patch any day now.

Visiting Gramps

We enjoyed the granddaughters visiting for several days in July (and coming again this week!). The baby is already 9 months old.

A Walk in the Woods with Granna

One of our favorite things to do with our oldest granddaughter is just walking around the yard to see what we can discover. I wonder how long this will be fun to her. Hopefully several more years!

We got to keep our 2-year-old granddaughter for several nights at our house in June. And we had such fun! Looking forward to keeping both girls for several days in August. Hopefully we’re up to it. 🙂

I was so glad my daughter Jenna participated in our Psalm 91 memorization challenge the past 8 weeks! Here we’re saying the final two verses together at her house. (Maicy her dog has played an active role.)

Whew! I’m the worst at changing out photos in my house. So Jenna helped me pick out frames and current photos for a totally new look. Jeff was gracious in actually getting them on the wall.
