I love the thought of "being" the bridge, Lisa. This is my favorite quote - "Truth is the foundation of awareness, and awareness is the first step in the process of reconciliation. Jesus said as much: “You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” Love and blessings to you!

I hate to write this, but I think we have crossed a divide; hate's become habit, and this will take generations to fix.

There is a bridge we might have crossed,
but we've run out of days,
and now the span's a total loss,
fallen and ablaze,
wrecked by care gone madness,
felled by dim dark rage;
no pity, now, nor sadness,
for we have torn the page
where dialogue could yet be found
between black, brown and white;
now there is no common ground,
it's just "You're wrong, I'm right!"
The work of good folk down the years
falls, the flames undoused by tears.

I love what she said about learning from our history and moving forward, Lisa. Yes, our country is not perfect, but then again, neither are we. And at least, our Constitution provides the ways and means to right the wrongs and to move forward in love and understanding of one another.
Blessings!
