Great post and a good reminder to not judge others. That being said, it’s really hard not to when the people that profess to be the biggest believers in the words of Jesus seems to often be the ones not following them. Its a shame #anythinggoes

I’ve been following John Pavlovitz on Twitter and love what he writes. Have been debating getting this book too and now you have me convinced.
Your reflection on what happened in the doctor’s office really hit home. I have found myself getting more judgmental in the last couple of years and that’s something that I’m consciously working on.

“Are we or are we not willing to show love to the world, even at personal expense?” Now that is a convicting question. How I pray that when Jesus returns, He won’t be asking me, “You had one job: Love. So, what happened?” Lisa, I so appreciate that you make me think and examine myself, challenging me to live differently – to want to be more like Jesus.

Ouch! So convicting, “I’m struggling with anger about him, with self-righteousness, with pride, all the ugly things. We’re just the same, he and I.”

And I agree with you, Lisa, “I want to err on the side of loving more and judging less.”

Righteousness verses self-righteousness can be blurry line among us Christians. It’s very unfortunate. Giving ourselves grace and others is most important! During this time it so important (as always) to dig deep in the fruit of the Spirit we’ve been given and to continual pray for wisdom (knocking out our own agendas)!

Lisa such good post, I unfortunately find myself in this situation more often that I would like. I get angry over the [seeming] inconsideration of others to mask, refusing to embrace the simple “my mask protects you, your mask protects me” but rather exercising their “rights”, all the while putting others at risk. UGH, I hate being in this position, because YES it is true, I am no different than them! John Pavlovitz’s statement, “I often envision an exasperated Jesus coming back, and the first words out of his mouth to his followers as his feet hit the pavement being “You had one job: Love. So, what happened?” pierces my heart, for Jesus is saying that to ME.
