Lisa, I started reading through the Psalms again a couple weeks ago, this time in an unmarked Bible. Each chapter is packed with comfort and truth, exactly what I need to combat all the noise and fear on the news. I haven’t gotten to Psalm 91 yet, but what a wonderful idea to memorize it during this season of uncertainty.

Psalms 91 is the perfect 911 – the number we call when we’re in trouble or need quick assistance. Psalms 91:1 – he who dwells in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. Dwelling leads to abiding which gives me peace in any trial. What a wonderful place to be.

I’m with you, Lisa. I find myself not listening or reading too much of the hysterical hype. I turn it off and sing Dirty Laundry by Don Henley…

But mostly I pray and remind myself that God is bigger than anything He allows. I seek to revere Him first, not what He’s in control of to begin with.

“It helps me remember the bigger picture, the bigger God, who knows everything going on around me and in me.” Me, too, Lisa. Dear Lisa,
Oh, He is calling our hearts to His Word through all of these trials, isn’t He? May we respond and let Him plant those Words ever more deeply. Thank you for the sweet feature here this week. God’s timing is amazing as He called a few of us at the Chronic Joy Community to pray together over the anxiety we each had faced. We didn’t know then how anxiety would be affecting not just the chronic illness community, but so many during this crisis. Thank you so much for all of your prayers and encouragement, dear sister! You are such a blessing to me.
