Is "I Will Survive" a "happy" song? Defiant and uplifting definitely, a real classic anthem.

That's a great post about conspiracy theories. Strange how they've become increasingly mainstream over the last few years. I think they are morally corrupting, the way they replace rational debate with innuendo and tribalism. And of course more often than not the Jews are to blame.

"Read boring news" is very sound advice. As one of your UK correspondents I could swear by the Financial Times, and the Economist is always a good read (that and the Spectator --- more political and lightweight --- are especially good because they have a range of perspectives --- always something from the "other side" that is actually well-written and hmm, ...). Gratified that the Guardian wasn't on the list LOL.

I loved reading the New York Times when I was there briefly last year. I've heard a lot of good things about the Christian Science Monitor but never got my hands on it --- do you know it? Actual newspapers and magazines seems so retro now but much nicer than a laptop or a tablet.

Lisa, I love ALL of your "5 Things I Love"! Terrific idea. These links are all interesting, loved the one about the conspiracy theories. Guilty as charged, I find them fascinating, while I don't truly believe hem, I don't put much effort into debunking them!

There are definitely so good oldies on your list of songs! Songs can have a powerful influence on us for good or for bad, can't they! We have not been ordered to eat outside but we are keeping our gatherings small. But I did think about the challenges as I saw photos of blogging friends and their outside Thanksgiving gatherings. Blessings!

I loved the socializing outdoors piece, Lisa - especially this part --> 'You need something with high calorie content to enable the body to produce metabolic energy. So think fats and sweets: hot cider and cocoa, fistfuls of candy and s’mores.'

I found it difficult to choose one happy song on that list - there are so many I love, Lisa! And we could sure use a healthy dose of happiness in our lives right now. Thanks for sharing!
