That’s a great post about conspiracy theories. Strange how they’ve become increasingly mainstream over the last few years. I think they are morally corrupting, the way they replace rational debate with innuendo and tribalism. And of course more often than not the Jews are to blame.

“Read boring news” is very sound advice. As one of your UK correspondents I could swear by the Financial Times, and the Economist is always a good read (that and the Spectator — more political and lightweight — are especially good because they have a range of perspectives — always something from the “other side” that is actually well-written and hmm, …). Gratified that the Guardian wasn’t on the list LOL.

I loved reading the New York Times when I was there briefly last year. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Christian Science Monitor but never got my hands on it — do you know it? Actual newspapers and magazines seems so retro now but much nicer than a laptop or a tablet.
